Altered Art

What makes something art?
What makes it a craft?
What exactly then is "arts and crafts?"
Funny questions, huh?
I like to think of what I do as "art."
My father was a true artist.
I have a friend who I consider to be an artist
yet she sometimes uses mediums that are
highly used in the "crafting" industry.
Perhaps it all boils down to the old saying...
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Or as I like to say...
"Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17
THAT is when it can be called ART... when it is from above.
And I am thankful for this fun little "craft"
that God uses to promote His art!
Praise the Lord!
Now, onto my "altered art..."
This adorable little container once held paper flowers.
I used the stamp sets "Forest Friends" and "All Holidays."
From the "All Holidays" set, I stamped the
"my dear kind and wonderful friend" image
but only trimmed the "friend" from it.
Do you get it?... by placing my little deer above the friend,
it ends up saying "dear friend."  Clever?
I also used the Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper
from the Holiday Mini Catalog (see side bar.)
LOVE that paper and will be sad to see it go!
Better order yours today!
I cherish your visit, dear friend.
Come back again soon!

Amen, Sister!

And I love this piece of true art pictured here----that little deer is priceless!
