Spritz on the Shimmer

This sweet little 6x6 mini book
was created for a friend embarking a new journey
down her path in serving Jesus Christ.
The front and back covers are lightweight chipboard pieces
from Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs.
They both have been "burnished" with Perfect Plum Craft Ink
and then "edged" with Old Olive Classic Ink.
To "burnish," simply use a stampin' sponge and rub
the ink onto the desired project piece.
To "edge," use a sponge to brush
the ink just off the edges of the project.
Be sure to use more than one sponge when using
two different ink colors as I have.
Here's a tip:  Cut your Stampin' Sponges in QUARTERS.
Then hold a quartered piece
at the "point" of the sponge when sponging a project.
Wash your sponges after each use and
they will last a very long time.
(Stampin' Sponges #101610 page192)
The butterfly was first cut from the
Beautiful Butterflies die (#114507 page 198)
with the Big Shot Machine (#113439 page194)
and then embossed with the
Backgrounds 1 set of Texturz Plates (#114512 page 195.)
The butterflies heart was created with the
Heart to Heart Punch (#113694 page 186.)
Although the stamp set titled "Say it with Scripture" is retired,
it remains one of my very favorite sets.
It was used on this page here.
Also used here is the lovely "Vintage Vogue"
(#118598 clear mount page 26 Occasions Mini Catalog.)
This set will only be available until the end of April
so now is the time to invest in its beauty!
Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper (#115671 page 160)
is one of the best selling packets of DSP.
It was used to decorate the bookmark and pages
of this precious gift booklet.
Also used to decorate the adorable bookmark is
Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon
(#115613 page 182.)
I just love how Stampin' Up! coordinates everything for us!
To create my colorful mat behind my flower,
I first trimmed a circle of Rich Razzleberry card stock
with the Circle Scissor Plus (# 112530 page191)
and layered on top of it
two Old Olive pieces punched with the
Wide Oval Punch (#112082 page 186.)
The flower was stamped in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink,
punched with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch
(#112004 page 186,)
and embellished with a lovely pearl from the
Pretties Kit (#109114 page179.)
And quite possibly the best part of all
(which is difficult to see in the photo but is radiant IRL)
is how the front cover "shimmers!"
Using the Platinum Shimmer Paint (#116807)
I created my own "Shimmer Mist."
The paint can still be ordered and
the recipe for the mist is as follows...

Supplies needed:
#71 Platinum (or any color) All-Purposte Ink for Fantastix from Stampin' Up!
high alcohol content hand sanitizer
travel spritz bottle

How to...
1. Fill spritz bottle 3/4 full with hand sanitizer.
2. Finishing filling bottle with H20. (Do not overfill.)
3. Using toothpick (being careful NOT TO TOUCH acohol/H20 with toothpick,) drip several drops of Platinum ink into spritz bottle. As each drop drips into spritz bottle, clean toothpick by scrapping excess ink onto the spritz bottle's opening edge.
4. Close spritz bottle and shake vigurously.
5. Test by spraying a scrap piece of card stock. If more sparkle is desired, repeat step #3 as many times as desired.

Feel free to contact me with any questions... kellyjeanstamps@gmail.com and your lovely comments are always cherished in my heart.  Blessings!
