Surprisingly Better than Ranch Dressing

This recipe totally cracks me up...
or perhaps should I say
my CBS sisters totally crack me up.
Here's the story...
I'm not a salad eater.  I eat it because I know I should.
Therefore, I'm very picky when it comes to salads.
Oh, I will try just about anything
(NO anchovies... eewww!)
but because I'm not really a "salad lover,"
I skip right by salad recipes & dressing recipes.
Give me a bottle of Ranch dressing
and I'll eat it... if I have to. he he he
we have brunch every three to four weeks at CBS.
(see... just another reason for you to check out
The week it was my department's turn to cater the meal
was the same week they decided to bring...
yep, you guessed it... salads.  sigh.
"WHAT was I going to bring?!"
I decided to "fancy up" some "real" Ranch dressing
to try to impress these fancy salad lovin' gals
(seriously, the fancier the salad...
the more they ooh and ahh.)
Here's what my experiment produced...

my Surprisingly Better than Ranch Dressing!
I mixed 1C of Hellman's Real Mayonaise
with 3 TBsp Ranch Powder
(or one pkg of Ranch dressing mix),
slowly wisked in 1/2 to 3/4C skim milk
(slowly wisking is the key),
and then added one stalk of celery, finely chopped
along with 3-4 baby carrots, finely chopped.
I served it with a full bunch of Romaine Lettuce.

Let me tell ya!
Those ladies thought I had some "secret" recipe
for my yummy salad dressing.
They oohed and aahed
and looked at me like I was crazy when
I told them it was "just" Ranch dressing.
I thought it was funny.
I must admit THIS recipe far exceeds
the flavor of just any ole bottle of Ranch.
I only eat salads now when I have a batch in the fridge.
Check back soon for my
"Crouton Chicken"
which is so yummy to dip with
"Surprisingly Better than Ranch Dressing."
