Wynne Wednesday #3

Once upon a time... long long ago...

(seriously... what I'm about to share with you
puts me in a galaxy far far away, hehehe)

I had this love of rubbah stamps and
Stampin' Up! grabbed my heart...
but so many others grabbed my attention!
I invested here and there in gems I thought might
benefit me some time later in life.
I had my SU! "business" images and then
I had my "oh this is super fun and SO ME" images.
Many of my business demo friends would say,
"Why would you want to make cards with
images that you can't make money from?!"
See... that's just it...

I never joined SU! "for the money!"

I truly love the ART of rubber stamping and
all the possibilities rubber stamping offers
to true artists as well as artistic wannabes!
I honestly and truly love love LOVE
the way receiving a hand made card makes me feel!!!
THAT is why I do what I do...
to cause someone to feel encouraged
when opening a fun and unique
and most likely "one-of-a-kind" card.
THAT is how I want my recipients to feel...
fun, unique, and one-of-a-kind :)

Sooo... from time to time I invest in images
that remind me of people I love OR
I invest in images that simply make me feel happy.

Today's card was created for my
wonderful Wynne
and it will adorn her college mailbox in
three... two... one...

Once upon a time, I purchased the images below
when Wynne was nearly EIGHT YEARS OLD!
(Oh my, how time flies!)
That was almost TEN years ago!!!
A friend used one of the images to create a card
and she posted her card on
Splitcoast Stampers.
I fell in love with the images BECAUSE...
I could totally see my Wynne in these
particular images (once she grew up, of course.)

I actually tucked the images away and
Can you believe that?!
What kind of crafter (aka pack rat)
would I be if I didn't tuck a few things away
specifically for the purpose of forgetting I had them?!
(Can I get a witness?!)

I rediscovered my little gems once I began
cleaning out my stash
(to make room for SU!'s new Annual Catalog
as well as try and make a bit of college money... pa-lease!).
At first, I was all "oh my, I never use these. they have to go!"
Then I was all... stampy stampy and...
OOOHHHH, they are SO "my Wynne!"
Therefore, keepy keepy I am now :)

Just look how cute my 3rd WYNNE WEDNESDAY card is!

I inked the "Amy" image from Rubber Romance
with Melon Mambo ink and then
"KISSED" Amy (oh my!)
with retired SU! "Polka Dot" bg stamp.
Then I inked the "Polka Dot" with Daffodil Delight
for my card's background
(AFTER masking the Amy image first).
The Whisper White base of my card is sponged
on all four sides with Daffodil Delight as well.
(If you are unfamiliar with any of these techniques
and it sounds as though I am speaking
a foreign language, please feel free to contact me
or leave a comment with your questions.
I am honest and truly "stamping2serveU!")

The little bumblebee image is from my
new bestie set "Honeycomb Hello."
(Um... hello?! Why did I wait so long for this set?!)
Remember, my gal will soon be attending
SCAD- Savannah College of Art & Design
and their mascot is the BEE :)

And the "adventure" is from Hostess Set
"Life's Adventure."

(Better hurry and grab this set from SU!!!
Once the new catty comes out, it will be gone forevah!
Remember, it's a Hostess Set which means
you will need to place an order at my ONLINE STORE
large enough to qualify for the Hostess Specials
-at least $150 OR
schedule a class with me within the next couple of days!)

The moral of today's story is...
(Now I feel like the mouse giving the moose a muffin...
if I'm not going to use something,
I might as well get rid of it...
which makes me think of Toy Story...
which happens to be my son's favorite childhood movie...
which makes me think of him... and then his sister...
which makes me realize... this is...
now I'm crying! HA!

I hope you enjoyed my rambling as I am
And I hope my gal enjoys her Wynne Wednesday cards.

Thanks for visiting!

PS- In case you are wondering...
the other two rubbah images above are
also by
And if anyone asks, wink wink...
I would still love to have
